Evan Hayduk:
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Evan came to Oregon as of his beginnings with MCWC in April 2016, but has a shared sense of Pacific Northwest pride as a lifelong Washingtonian. For almost a decade he has worked in environmental restoration of riparian, wetland, sub-alpine, prairie, forested and oak savanna ecosystems.
Cheryl Horton:
ESTUARY PROGRAM MANAGER
Cheryl coordinates the Estuary Focused Investment Partnership (FIP) "Restoring Resilience to Two Estuaries" a six year initiative to conserve and restore tidal wetland habitats in the Yaquina and Alsea estuaries. She has over 15 years of project management, grant writing, meeting facilitation, and ecological research and monitoring experience.
Carrie Wyler:
HABITAT RESTORATION SPECIALIST
Carrie began her journey in conservation by working with the Utah Conservation Corps as a crew leader in 2004, which sparked a love of working outside. Corps work led to working in Zion National Park in the vegetation and restoration division for 9 years, where she worked extensively with dedicated volunteers. From there she spent some time on Catalina Island working for their Conservancy on restoration projects. She left island life behind to join the botany program at Crater Lake National Park to lead field crews and run their restoration program and native plant nursery. The beauty of south central Oregon kept her at Crater Lake for 7 years and allowed her to explore the rest of the state. She spent many long weekends on the coast and fell in love with the communities and ecosystems she encountered. This position with MCWC has combined her love of restoration ecology, working in nurseries, educating others about conservation, working with volunteers, living on the coast, and being part of a community.
Natalie Dulansky:
COMMUNICATIONS AND OUTREACH SPECIALIST
Natalie is a science communicator and lover of all creative endeavors who recently received her master's in Advertising and Brand Responsibility from the University of Oregon, where she worked as a communication and design specialist for their library system. She enjoys making complex information more understandable to people through gathering stories and relating experiences. Her interest in climate change communication and how restoration can affect the complex relationships between humans and ecosystems led her to MCWC. She is eager to talk to the community about volunteer and donation opportunities to support MidCoasts’ restoration efforts, and to use her writing and design skills to reach a broader audience. Natalie enjoys hiking and nature photography, and is looking forward to discovering the natural beauty of the Oregon Coast one step at a time.
FORMER POLICY DIRECTOR
WAYNE HOFFMAN
Wayne’s 20 years of leadership saw the implementation of stream restoration projects, whole basin planning strategies, and a value of water conservation and healthy watersheds. He retired in the fall of 2018, but his legacy at MCWC is as strong as ever.
