The Alsea River is another coastal river in western Oregon, USA. The river has been used by the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians for thousands of years for fishing and other cultural practices. During the 20th century, the Alsea River basin became a center of timber harvesting and commercial fishing activity. These activities led to significant impacts on the river's ecology, including erosion, sedimentation, and loss of habitat. In recent decades, efforts have been made to restore the Alsea River and its habitat, including the removal of dams and other barriers to fish passage.
